Xavier Santamaria immigrated from modern day Spanish Morocco at the age of 19. He like so many that went before him aspired to establish a life in North America. He came to Canada with an elementary school education, no understanding of the English language and a suitcase of clothes. Xavier, or X as those closest called him, worked for various construction companies to build his skill set and support his family. Having the vision to start his own business he founded Restorex Contracting Ltd. in 1992. His professional success was rooted in two core principles – keep your word and build meaningful relationships; both principles continue to serve as fundamentals at Restorex today. Many of the relationships Xavier built in the 90s, and before, continue to this very day and were instrumental in the success of the company. X tragically passed in 2015, but his legacy within Restorex continues to thrive and will never be forgotten.
